Small Business Development Center
The KSBDC in Southeast Kansas is a REGIONAL resource and support center for the small business person. Any individual interested in starting a small business or existing small business firm may receive assistance from the KSBDC. There are no charges for our services, however, there may be fees charged to cover costs associated with training courses.
MISSION
The Mission of the Pittsburg State University Kansas Small Business Development Center is to facilitate small business development and subsequent economic growth throughout Southeastern Kansas. We provide start-up and existing businesses with assistance in planning, financing, budgeting, management and operations.

The U. S. Small Business Administration provides federal funding for the operation of the KSBDC. In order to qualify for these federal funds, the KSBDC must provide matching funds equal to the federal funds provided. Local cash match in an amount not less than 50 percent of federal funding is required. The remainder may be indirect or in-kind match. The Kansas Department of Commerce and the eight host colleges and universities and the hosts of the outreach centers provide local cash match.
Our outreach center was initially established in collaboration with six Southeast Kansas Community Colleges -- Allen Community college, Iola; Coffeyville Community College; Fort Scott Community College; Independence Community college; Labette Community College, Parsons; and Neosho County Community College, Chanute -- and Emporia State University.
