Consulting Services

The KSBDC network provides free, confidential, one-on-one consulting designed to assist start-up and existing business owners with assistance in planning, financing, budgeting, management and operations.    Our counseling approach is one of guidance and education, not of doing the work for the client.

The KSBDC collaborates with a wide variety of resources and other business professionals to provide the information clients need to be successful.  If we cannot answer your question directly, we will utilize our statewide and national network of other SBDC consultants, as well as other resources to help your business succeed.

Our counselors visit a number of locations for one-on-one counseling sessions on a regularly scheduled basis (see schedule) and on an as-needed basis.   Areas of assistance cover every aspect of owning a small business, including:

  • business planning
  • financial projection development
  • cash flow analysis
  • market plan development
  • market research
  • sources of capital and financing
  • product cost analysis and pricing
  • advertising strategies
  • sales technique
  • patent process
  • human resources
